I was recently taken by ambulance to St. Al's ER with severe chest pains.

After tests returned, the Dr. (I believe was a Dr. Miller) gave me the results and consulted with a heart Dr. who recommended an over-night stay followed with a stress test the next morning.

Upon his advice, I ordered an evening meal. I had not had insulin since that a.m. and had to eat and get my insulin shot as my blood sugars were over 300. I then asked when I would be moved to my room as I had then been laying there over 6 hours.

I was told there were patients there who have been laying there over 10 hours! The staff was humiliating me by preaching to me about how 20 people had been working to save someones life and I should be thankful to be alive and that I was not the only patient there. During being reprimanded for asking about a room, my meal arrived. I pushed the cart aside so I could sit up to eat.

Next thing I knew the nurse was pushing my food out of the room, telling me when I apologised, she would bring it back ! That was when I decided to leave, go home and eat and take my insulin. Upon leaving, the same nurse told me I could step into a room to have my IV removed, or she could call security. Of course I let herb remove it.

On our way home my husband told me that when I moved my tray to eat, it had bumped her and that was why she took my food away. I have never in my life been treated so badly at a hospital in my life. Needless to say, I will never return to St. Al's ER, no matter how dire the emergency.

Thank you, Carlene D. Thomas 323-**** Also am offended by referred to as a PISSED CONSUMER!

Unfortunately the two hospitals in town have a monopoly on the medical industry and can treat patients how they want to. Its a *** shoot dealing with either hospital, myself being from Seattle im accustomed to Harborview and dealing with Dr's who've arrived at there preferred destination to practice.

Not Boise, a waypoint for Dr's in need of experience and a job. Same goes for most RN's.
